TRIBUTEThe Tribute Collection by iLaCatrina celebrates the lives and legacies of iconic women who have profoundly shaped Mexican culture and identity. Featuring figures like Frida Kahlo, renowned for her groundbreaking art and fierce individuality, and Selena Quintanilla, the beloved Queen of Tejano music who bridged cultures through her timeless talent, this collection honors their achievements and enduring influence. Each Catrina is meticulously designed to reflect the spirit, style, and contributions of these remarkable women, serving as a powerful homage to their lasting impact on Mexico and the world.
AS SEEN ONiLaCatrina has brought its signature cultural couture to some of the most respected venues in the country, blending tradition and visual storytelling through fashion and live performance. Highlights include being one of seven Mexican designers selected to open the inaugural Made in Mexico Hour at New York Fashion Week; staging Boston’s first ever Day of the Dead runway presentation at the historic Liberty Hotel; presenting a live Catrina exhibit at The Shops at La Cantera, one of San Antonio’s premier luxury centers; and debuting the vivid Colors of Mexico fashion editorial at Fantasy Lab Las Vegas —each moment underscoring our mission to animate Mexican heritage through living art and public narrative.

NYFWWe are thrilled to announce that iLaCatrina has been selected as one of the top seven Mexican designers to participate in the exclusive “Made in Mexico” Mega Show at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) 2025. This groundbreaking event will take place on Sunday, February 9, at 3:00 PM at Sony Hall, New York, and will showcase the very best of Mexican creativity and culture to an international audience.

LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO: THE RUNWAY

In celebration of International Women’s Day, iLaCatrina® presented LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO: THE RUNWAY, an immersive cultural experience honoring the women who shaped Mexico’s cultural, intellectual, and political legacy across more than 500 years of history. Held on March 6, 2026, at the Mexican Cultural Institute of San Antonio, the presentation reflected a shared commitment to cultural education and the preservation of Mexican heritage while showcasing iLaCatrina®’s vision of using the arts to connect tradition with contemporary expression.

LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO unfolded as a live runway experience featuring eight original Catrina icons, each inspired by a remarkable woman from Mexican history. As every icon walked the runway, her story came to life through original couture design, live historical narration, curated musical soundscapes, and immersive visuals displayed on a large scale LED screen. Together, these elements transformed history into an emotional and engaging cultural experience.

The production featured an accomplished cast of iLaCatrina® model ambassadors, including empowered Latina models, Miss Universe Latina contestants, and national beauty pageant titleholders. Many have appeared on major fashion stages and continue to use their platforms to celebrate Mexican heritage while fostering greater appreciation for Latino culture through art, fashion, and storytelling.

ABOUT THE COLLECTION

LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO is a visual storytelling collection presented in a fashion show format that spans centuries of Mexican history, from the era of conquest to modern cultural sovereignty. Each Catrina icon represents a woman whose voice, presence, or legacy altered the course of Mexican history and consciousness.
