iLaCatrina made a powerful impact at Texas Fashion Week with the debut of “Featured Icons”—a special runway collection honoring five symbolic representations of Mexican identity and cultural pride: Quetzalcóatl, Castilla, Monarca, Fiesta, and Mexicana.
Each look told a story.
- Quetzalcóatl, the feathered serpent god, symbolized ancestral wisdom, duality, and cosmic power—one of Mesoamerica’s most revered deities.
- Castilla evoked the layered complexity of colonial history, reclaiming elegance through modern Mexican artistry and narrative.
- Monarca celebrated the monarch butterfly, a powerful emblem of migration, resilience, and spiritual transformation.
- Fiesta burst onto the runway with vibrant energy, honoring the traditions, color, and collective joy of Mexican celebrations.
- Mexicana closed the showcase as a proud embodiment of identity, femininity, and cultural strength—an homage to every Mexican woman carrying heritage forward.
The Featured Icons collection transformed the runway into a powerful visual journey, merging fashion, symbolism, and storytelling in a bold celebration of Mexican heritage. From myth to modernity, each design honored the figures, histories, and spirit that continue to define and inspire.
iLaCatrina extends heartfelt thanks to Texas Fashion Week (@txfashionweek), Texas Fashion Industry Initiative (@texasfashionindustry), and MUSAS Runway (@musasrunway) for the opportunity to share this vision on such a meaningful stage. Featured Icons was more than fashion—it was a cultural declaration.
