QUETZALCOATL

Catrina “Quetzalcoatl” is an artistic portrayal of the “Feathered Serpent”, a deity in Aztec culture and literature.

Among the Aztecs, Quetzalcoatl was related to wind, Venus, Sun, merchants, arts, crafts, knowledge, and learning. Quetzalcoatl is also a symbol of healing, goodness, and light. Some offerings associated with Quetzalcoatl include maize, the decapitated heads of birds, and some kind of bread.

One of the most enduring legends surrounding the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl is the prophecy of his return, akin to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in Christian theology. According to Aztec culture, Quetzalcoatl would one day return from the east to live again among his people, bringing them prosperity and enlightenment.
