Catrina Dolores symbolizes the color red in the Mexican flag—representing blood, bravery, and the sacrifice behind Mexico’s fight for independence. She carries a replica of the Campana de Dolores, used by Miguel Hidalgo to ignite the movement for freedom, along with two historical flags: the Cruz de Borgoña (1811-1821), flown by royalist forces from Córdova, Orizaba, and Jalapa, and the Bandera del Batallón de Tres Villas (1823–1855)—the first known flag to feature the eagle without a crown, reflecting the early vision of a sovereign republic.

Catrina Dolores, an icon of the 2025 Inspiring Heritage Collection by iLaCatrina, was filmed at Villa Finale Museum & Garden—a preserved historical site in San Antonio’s King William District and proud location sponsor. The powerful setting brings her story to life as a visual tribute to Mexico’s identity, memory, and strength.
