DAY OF THE DEAD IN BOSTON

DAY OF THE DEAD IN BOSTON

iLaCatrina captivated a sold-out audience at The Liberty Hotel in Boston with a breathtaking Día de Muertos runway presentation, transforming one of the city’s most iconic venues into a vibrant celebration of life, death, and cultural identity.

Presented in three distinct rounds, the showcase paid tribute to Mexico’s ancestral heritage, mythic imagination, and cultural icons through stunning fashion and immersive storytelling.

The evening opened with Essence of the Elements, a powerful segment featuring Catrinas inspired by the natural forces of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. Drawing from Aztec symbolism and elemental energy, each design embodied the spiritual essence of the natural world.

The second round, Fantastical Offerings, brought a dreamlike quality to the runway with vivid and mystical Catrinas inspired by iconic Mexican symbols. From Alebrije and Talavera to Xochiquetzal and Monarca, the collection celebrated the vibrant soul of the ofrenda and the magic of imagination rooted in tradition.

Closing the night was Voices of Mexico, a powerful tribute to beloved cultural figures such as La Mexicana, Mariachi, Adelina, and Frida Tehuana. This segment honored the enduring strength and beauty of Mexico’s voices—past and present—through fashion that was both elegant and emotionally resonant.

From concept to execution, the event fused heritage with haute couture, leaving guests immersed in a rich, multi-sensory experience. More than just a runway show, it was a living altar—an offering of art, memory, and national pride.
