iLaCatrina® will present LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO: THE RUNWAY, an immersive cultural presentation honoring the women who shaped Mexico’s cultural, intellectual, and political legacy across more than 500 years of history, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The presentation will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Mexican Cultural Institute of San Antonio, reflecting a shared commitment to cultural education and the preservation of Mexican heritage, and aligning with iLaCatrina’s vision of using the arts to connect tradition with contemporary expression.
LAS DOÑAS DE MÉXICO unfolds as a live fashion runway experience featuring eight original Catrina icons, each centered on a prominent woman from Mexican history. As each icon walks the runway, her story is revealed through custom designed fashion, live historical narration, curated DJ soundscapes, and immersive visuals displayed on a large scale LED screen, creating powerful and emotional moments that transform history into a live cultural experience.
The runway features an impressive lineup of dedicated model ambassadors, including empowered Latina models, Miss Universe Latina contestants, and national beauty pageant title holders. Many have walked major fashion stages and continue to use their platforms to foster understanding and appreciation of Latino culture through the arts and fashion.
